• The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream and Eye Cream Review

Some weeks ago I was looking for an eye cream as my Body Shop Elderflower Cooling Eye Gel wasn't enough since the weather was getting colder. So I went to my local Body Shop searching for one. I got the Vitamin E Eye Cream. Then the assistant told me about a sale there was in Vitamin E Moisture Cream. I tried it in store and liked it. What I needed was a night cream because I already had a day cream. But when I tried the Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream I hated the smell! I really hated it, there was no way I'd apply it on my face! Luckily the Vitamin E Moisture Cream has no SPF in it so I got it to use it as night cream or when I'm staying home for the day so I don't need sunscreen.

Moisture Cream

Packaging-Application
It comes in a light pink opaque jar with black lid which contains 50ml 1,7 fl oz. It can be used for 12 months after opening. I generally prefer squeezing tubes for creams as I don't like dipping my fingers in the product. To solve this problem I've got a tiny spatula, free from Sephora. :)

Ingredients (from the UK website - I love the fact that explains every ingredient!):
Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Isopropyl Palmitate (Emollient), Sorbitol (Humectant), Lanolin (Emollient), Glyceryl Stearate (Emulsifier), Cetyl Esters (Emollient), Steareth-2 (Emulsifier), PEG-100 Stearate (Surfactant), Ceresin (Stabiliser), Triethanolamine (pH Adjuster), Tocopheryl Acetate (Antioxidant), Steareth-20 (Emulsifier), Carbomer (Viscosity Modifier), Methylparaben (Preservative), Parfum (Fragrance), Benzyl Benzoate (Solvent), Butylparaben (Preservative), Ethylparaben (Preservative), Hydroxycitronellal (Fragrance Ingredient), Isobutylparaben (Preservative), Propylparaben (Preservative), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Cinnamyl Alcohol (Fragrance Ingredient), Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone (Fragrance Ingredient), CI 14700 (Colour).

The actual product
Colour: It's a light pink cream.

Smell/Taste: It has a smell which I like. It's like old fashioned/classic cream scent, a little flowery. As I said the vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream has a completely different smell which I didn't like. That's why I got this instead.

Feeling: It feels very light when you apply it, almost gel-like. It absorbs quickly. After that, it's not oily or greasy but you can still feel it's there moisturising your skin. I have combination to normal skin and I like using it as a day or night cream. It says it's for all skin types, I'd say it's not for very dry or oily skin. After using it for some weeks, I can say that it doesn't break me out and I haven't had any problems using the cream.

Last but not least: Made in UK, not tested on animals (from jar)

Summary: 4,5/5
because of the packaging.

Eye cream

Packaging-Application
It comes in a light pink opaque squeezing tube with a presice tip. This it the type of eye cream packaging I love. It contains 15 ml 0,5 fl oz of product and can be used for 6 months after opening.

Ingredients(from the UK website)
Aqua (Water) (Solvent/Diluent), Glycerin (Humectant), Cyclomethicone (Emollient), Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate (Emollient/Skin Conditioner), Rosa canina (Rose Hips Oil) (Emollient), Methyl Gluceth-20 (Viscosity Modifier), Mica (Opacifier), Panthenol (Skin/Hair Conditioning Agent), Tocopheryl Acetate (Antioxidant), Saccharide Isomerate (Humectant), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Barium Sulfate (Opacifier), Butyrospermum parkii (Shea Butter) (Emollient), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Algae (Seaweed Extract) (Natural Additive), Sodium Hyaluronate (Humectant), Methylparaben (Preservative), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Dimethicone (Skin Conditioning Agent), Butylparaben (Preservative), Ethylparaben (Preservative), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Isobutylparaben (Preservative), Propylparaben (Preservative), Chlorphenesin (Cosmetic Biocide), Sodium Dehydroacetate (Preservative), CI 77891 (Colour).

The actual product

Colour: White, not shimmery.

Smell/Taste: Nothing special.

Feeling: It feels light but moisturizes. It's not oily but it's heavy enough to apply before a creamy concealer. My eye area is pretty sensitive, especially after I remove my makeup and this cream feels perfect, it doesn't itch like other eye creams do. I haven't had any problem with the cream. I haven't noticed any dark circles reduction.

Last but not least: Made in UK, not tested on animals.

Summary: 4/5
because I haven't notice any dark circles reduction as it promises.

I think I paid 11 euros for it.

  1. I was thinking of getting the eye cream for the dark circles.I didn't because I didn't think it'd do anything.Since vitamin E doesn't do much for them.Vitamin C would though.Hmmm I might get that.(Yes I'm rambling about vitamins.Studying at 2.30 am does that :p )
The face cream is great though!I have it and enjoy it very very much!

  3. @Ria: I agree with you. It also promises reduction of fine lines and puffiness but I can't really comment on that because I don't have any yet. Vitamin C, huh? I might get it when I finish this one. Many kisses, thanks for your comment!
