In this post I'll review another e.l.f. product, the blush from the basic line. I know that many beauty bloggers love e.l.f. studio blushes but I haven't seen any reviews for the basic line ones. I have only one colour from the studio line and to be honest I don't think it's very pigmented. But I have ordered a couple more to give them another chance to impress me. :D Anyway, let's move on to the review.
Packaging-Application
Direct sun (from the left light pink and clockwise): Shy, Coy, Glow, Bronzed, Flushed
Shade (from the left light pink and clockwise): Shy, Coy, Glow, Bronzed, Flushed
Packaging is unique for a blush, it's a clear slide up container. The very first time it may be a little hard to open it but after that everything is ok. The dimensions are about 5x4x1 cm so it's small and fits well in small make up bags. It contains 2gr 0.07oz of product and can be used for 12 months after opening. Some girls complain that the blush is too small for their blush brush to fit in. My blush brush is a big one (bigger than e.l.f. blush brushes) and I have no problem using these blushes.
Ingredients (from the website): Talc, Mica, Paraffinium Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Zinc Stearate, Titanium Dioxide(CI 77891), Kaolin , Petrolatum Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Iron Oxides(CI 77491 , CI 77492 , CI 77499), Red No.6 Lake (CI 15850), Ultramarines (CI 77007)
The actual product
Direct sun (L-R): Shy, Coy, Glow, Bronzed, Flushed
Shade (L-R): Shy, Coy, Glow, Bronzed, Flushed
Colour:Shy is a matte baby pink colour, on light skin tones you'll get a porcelain doll look. It's also good for blending in darker colours. Coy is a very weird and unique shade. It's a pinkish brown with gold shimmer. It makes a good blush/highlighter for darker skin tones and a blush/bronzer for lighter ones. Glow looks too orange in the website but it's a pretty coral with gold shimmers, perfect for summer! Bronzed is a bronze colour. I use this one and Glow for a sunkissed look and they are perfect! Flushed is a matte fuchsia shade. Very beautiful but you need to be careful not to apply too much.
Feeling:
Very soft blushes. Too soft I must say and as you can see most of them have broken and I have fixed them with rubbing alcohol. Nothing difficult but still it's a con. A little powdery but not too much.Smell/Taste:
On the website it's written that they smell Sugar Orange. The blushes that were broken and fixed do not smell anything, the one that hasn't broken smells a little sweet but you really have to stick your nose very close to smell it. So all in all I'd say no smell.
Last but not least: Designed in USA, made in China, not tested on animals.
Summary: 3.5/5
Pros Cons
+ pigmented - break easily
+ low price - small quantity
+ small packaging - no mirror
+ clear lid
Would I buy again?
Yes. I understand that it's not the perfect blush but I'm happy with it regarding the quality/pigmentation and the price.Where can you find/buy it-Cost
- E.L.F. UK for €1.70 or £1.50
- E.L.F. US for 1$
Do you own any of these blushes? If you do, please share your opinion with a comment below, I'd love to read it. :D Btw, when did you start using blush? I was late to discover it but now I love it!

Glow is such a pretty color.I am really into peach/orange coral lately. But the fact that they break is quite a big turn-off.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the detailed review dear
Teleio review opws panta!!! To Coy mpike stin kardia mou san xrwmataki!
ReplyDeleteShy and Glow look lovely. I haven't tried any of them yet as many girls reporting them breaking, but I can see your point of view! I might actually end up getting one or two :)
ReplyDelete@CookingChinchillas: Yes, it is. Luckily, when they are fixed they are not that soft anymore. But still, they should press them better!
ReplyDelete@Κερασία: είναι πολύ περίεργο χρώμα αλλά και πολύ φυσικό. Ευχαριστώ αγαπημένη!
@Y: I wish they pressed them better so they wouldn't break! They are not perfect but they are good regarding the quality and price. Thanks for stopping by doll!
