As you know, some time ago, I won the Sigma F80 brush at Lara's giveaway
Description from Sigma site
This exclusive flat top synthetic kabuki was designed to deliver a flawless makeup application. The Sigma Makeup F80 is a buffer brush that can be used to blend powder or liquid products. The short and dense bristles make it easy to buff your liquid foundation. The long handle adds comfort to your makeup application. The synthetic fibers are ideal to be used with liquid products and can be easily cleaned. Made of Synthetic Sigmax HD filament.
It came in a red gift pouche inside a box. There were also Sigma leaflets about their products.
My own opinion
Pros
* It's super dense yet amazingly soft.
* I've washed it 2-3 times, it didn't lose hairs or dye.
* The hairs don't absorb the liquid foundation so it's really easy to clean.
* When I apply my foundation with this the coverage is a lot better.
* Very quick to blend the foundation, speeds up the proccess.
* No brush lines when I apply the foundation with this brush.
Cons
Sigma brushes are really loved among beauty bloggers and I was like I HAVE to find a con, it can't be perfect, right? So, behold, here it is!!!
LOL!! When I received it there were 2 longer hairs. I cut it with scissors. The end. :D
Seriously, this is a really good brush, it makes foundation application really fast and easy, I'm impressed! And I have to admit that I was a little hesitant in the begining.
When I joined Lara's giveaway I commented saying that I'd love to have the chance to compare it with my regular foundation brush. And I did. And the F80 won 3-0 (for coverage, for speed and for easy cleaning!) Because my regular brush drags the product, needs more blending = more time and I need to wash it with oil (too bored to do so) or wash it 4-5 times till it's all clear.
Summary: 5/5
I love it!
Where can you find/buy it-Cost
- from Sigma website
- for $16.00
So, tell me, do you own this brush? Like or hate it? What method do you use to apply your foundation?
Disclaimer: Sigma links are affiliate links, I received this brush for free as the gift of a giveaway, nobody pays me to do this post. Always my honest opinion.

I like sigma brushes, but some of their brushes especially the facial ones, soak up a lot of product.Wasting product makes me sad.
ReplyDeleteBut for powder products this brush is amazing!
Glad you like it Natalie :) lol at those two longer hairs hehe
ReplyDelete@CookingChichillas: This one doesn't and I'm really impressed! The foundation will get only in the white part of the hairs. Maybe it's because it's dense because the e.l.f. flat top brush does soak up product.
ReplyDelete@Lara: Thanks doll, I love it! :D
Wow, you really like it, ha ? Does it make you look any cakey ? I read somewhere that it might cake up the foundation because of its density.
ReplyDeleteAgh every review on the F80 brush makes me go and put an order at Sigma! Although I've read that the Sigma brushes are no longer made in the US- instead, they're made in China. Do you happen to know if it's true?
ReplyDelete@Anastasia: No but the foundation I use is really light (Essence stay all day). I don't know how it works with heavier foundations. If I remember correctly, Stavroula uses this brush wet to apply Revlon Colorstay which is heavier and difficult to blend.
ReplyDelete@cbsg5861: I have no idea, hun, sorry! Let me ask them and get back to you :)

ReplyDeleteAnswer to your comment on my blog:
ReplyDeleteYou can let the brush soap sun dry,but not the really intense midday sun.
Good luck :)
Ahh btw I saw on another blog that you said that there is no powdered gelatin available here in Greece.Today I found 2 kinds at carrefour marinopoulous: Knox unflavored gelatine and carrefour brand unflavored. They were well hidden with the instant soups and not with the zele frouton.
@cbsg5861 and everyone interested: "The suppliers of the necessary parts and components to our brushes and kits are originated in countries such as US, Korea, and China. Brushes are handmade in China and kits are assembled and inspected for quality in the US prior to sale. Our brushes are cruelty free, no animals are harmed nor killed in the process of gathering the natural hairs." (I asked them to confirm that they are cruelty free because I couldn't find it in the site)
