• Love at first sight. Or not?

Hello beautiful people!
You know when you get a beauty product-any beauty product and you are like "wow, I love it!"? Well, today's post is about a product that my reaction was exactly the opposite. Intrigued yet?

I'm currently looking for my new fav mascara so I was more than happy to receive it.
When I opened the box I was quite disappointed by the size of the tube. It's very slim. Which means the wand is very slim. And slim wands cannot work. Or at least this is what companies like Maybelline (queen of huge wands, no?) make me think.

Let's take a look at the ingredients, shall we? Click to view larger.
5,9 ml (it could be bigger) can be used up to 6 months (as most mascaras). 95% natural formula, oh, that sounds nice! Contact lens wearers? Yep, that's me! Nickel-controlled? Wait, you mean that other mascaras contain nickel? I thought jewelery shouldn't contain nickel let alone mascaras! Ok, I'm a little worried now, I'll search further about nickel in cosmetics and if it's safe. If you know anything, please share!

Here's what La-Roche Posay says about it:
Over the course of 3 years’ exclusive research, La Roche-Posay laboratories have developed a revolutionary, 95% natural formula that fulfils the needs of ultra-sensitive eyes for absolute tolerance and safety.
Enriched in nourishing Argan oil and Shea butter, this mascara offers ultra-comfort, ultra-softness and ultra-respect of lashes, from application to removal. Its supple and high-precision brush ensures a natural defining result, without overloading.

Ok, let's open the tube. Here's what the wand looks like
A close-up please?

So I've tried it and tested it and here's what I think:
  • thanks to the small wand it's literally foolproof, I can apply it everywhere and not create a black mess around my eyes. If you saw a woman applying mascara on the subway it may or may not be me LOL
  • secondly, the formula isn't thick or dry so I can easily apply a second coat without the spider lashes effect
  • it doesn't irritate my sensitive-contact-lens eyes although I wear it for the whole day
  • it's very easy to remove, even with warm water but
  • it doesn't smudges. I cried with this mascara on and didn't look like a panda.
All in all,
this was definitely not a love-at-first-sight experience but after using it I loved it. If you want super volume or spider lashes this isn't for you but if you are looking for a great everyday mascara you'll love it! I'll keep it in my everyday purse, didn't I say how handy it is?

Disclaimer: Product mentioned is pr sample and was sent to me for free from assetOgilvy. This doesn't affect my opinion.

  1. I have this mascara in my vanity, but I won't open it till I finish the other 2 I am using right now.I t sounds like a good mascara. I hope it will work for me,too. Currently I am in love with Helena Rubinstein's new mascara but it is soooo expensive(42 or 45€) so I won't buy it again.

  2. Thanks for sharing! I have never tried any LRP make-up before but their skin care products are ace! I'm concerned about the nickel thing though... Catrice do a fabulous mascara called Glamour Doll and it is very volumizing, same goes for their Mini Max which has a tiny wand but produces some serious va va volume! Pupa Vamp! mascara is also a very good alternative although it is more expensive (€13) xx :)

  5. @Korina: I guess it depends but I prefer to spend that much money on something that'll last me more than 6 months so I always buy drugstore mascaras. Kisses doll!

  9. I haven't tried it yet, but I will very soon! Mary from madeinheart told me to use it underneath the purple extraordinaire mascara by seventeen! You use a thin coat of the lrp and then the purple one by seventeen! Amazing results ;) Nice review as always honey! x

  10. It seams to be nice. I have a hard time finding perfect mascara because I have short lashes and it is really hard to find something that is good for me.

  11. @Stavroula DrugstoreBLover: oooh, I should try layering mascaras and I'm dying to try the Seventeen purple mascara!

@fairy_ana: me too, I want volume without clumps and smudgeproof but easy-to-remove mascara! This wand is great with short lashes but it won't give you much length or volume
