Good evening ladies!
I have a body product review for you today. I got this as a free gift with greek Marie Claire magazine in September or October, I think. I bought 2 of them, the first one is already finished, this is my second one. Let's move on to the review...
Packaging-Application
It comes in a plastic brown opaque jar that contains 200ml 7.0oz of product. When I got it there was a transparent tape around the cap but I think the ones that are sold in store don't have it so don't worry if you don't see it.
Ingredients (from UK website)
Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Butyrospermum parkii (Skin-Conditioning Agent/Emollient), Cyclomethicone (Emollient), Glycerin (Humectant), Theobroma Cacao Butter (Emollient), Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil (Emollient), Glyceryl Stearate (Emulsifier), PEG-100 Stearate (Surfactant), Cetearyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), Cocos Nucifera Oil (Emollient/Hair Conditioner), Bertholletia excelsa (Emollient), Dimethicone (Skin Conditioning Agent), Lanolin Alcohol (Stabiliser/Emollient), Trihydroxystearin (Skin Conditioning Agent), Myristamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Parfum (Fragrance), p-Anisic Acid (pH Modifier), Xanthan Gum (Viscosity Modifier), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Benzyl Benzoate (Solvent), Coumarin (Fragrance Ingredient), Butylphenyl Methylpropional (Fragrance Ingredient), Caramel (Colour).
The actual product
Colour: Yellowish white
Smell/Taste: Sweet, coconut and buttery scent. It smells summery but not too much like those tan oils. I enjoyed the scent very much during winter time. It lasts at least a couple hours on skin. Of course, if you want something scentless, this is not for you.
Feeling: My skin is not dry. And this one, although it is a body butter, it's for normal/dry skin, not for very dry skin. So don't be afraid to try it. Because I have to confess I was. It won't absorb super fast but I've used body lotions that absord slower that this one. It doesn't leave oil behind, just baby-soft skin and a yummy scent. A little goes a long way. I've been using it 2-3 times a week and the first jar lasted me for 3-4 months!
Last but not least:
Made in UK, Against animal testing (from packaging).
Summary: 5/5
I love it! I won't use it in hot summer days but for every other day it's perfect. I recommend it for normal or dry skin or for the dry body parts like heels, elbows etc.
Would I buy it again?
(Keep in mind that I generally don't repurchase products because I'm always looking for a new better product. And yes, I'm a Gemini, I get easily bored. lol!)
For the regular price I'm not sure, it's a bit pricey for me.
But for a magazine price, sure!
Where can you find/buy it-Cost
-Global website
-The Body Shop stores
-Online shops (Australia / Canada / Germany / France / Korea / The Netherlands / UK / USA)
-Cost: £12.50 at UK online shop, 15,00 € at French online shop, I think it costs about that much in greek stores too.
-As I said, I got this as a free gift with greek Marie Claire, which means it costed me around 4-5€! Now, I'm not sure if it's true, but a girl told me that this month's greek Marie Claire will give it as a free gift again! So keep it in mind because it's such a bargain!!
So, do you have/like/hate this product? Will you get it? I definitely will!

I also have this body butter, but unfortunately it makes my nose run and my eyes get itchy. But it does a great job on leather!
ReplyDelete@CookingChinchillas: OMG! You have an allergic reaction to it? It is because of the fragrance ingredients? It's a pity because it does a good job for me and I generally don't like very rich, buttery creams.
ReplyDeleteHello Natalie. I'm new at your beautiful blog. As a huge Body Shop fan I adore their body butters. Coconut is great but I suggest next time to try Moringa, my absolutely favorite. Smells like summer!
ReplyDelete@mariza: Hi Mariza! Thank you very much for following and commenting! Sure, I'll try it next time I visit Body Shop! :D
ReplyDeleteOooh, lovely news! I'm a big fan of the Body Shop body butters, my favourite was the Almond BB that was sadly discontinued... They always discontinue the good stuff!
